MUNISING MUSTANGS SOFTBALL GAME CANCELATION
With game time temps predicted to be 26 degrees with a 15 mph NNW wind, the double-header home games tomorrow (Tuesday 4/26) against Bark River-Harris have been canceled.

SEEKING DONATIONS: MUNISING HIGH SCHOOL ADVANCES 3 STUDENTS TO FORENSICS STATE FINALS.
On April 28, Munising’s team will collaborate with Westwood High School to send the students on a charter bus to compete in the MIFA State Finals sponsored event. Munising has qualified at least one student to participate in the BCD Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association statewide event for at least two decades or more.
Fortunately, this year’s event will be in person instead of via zoom meetings. Unfortunately, due to the expense of hotels, judging, transportation and participation, the team’s past fundraising will be largely depleted.
Students will have a very lengthy Saturday, April 29 of competition, anywhere from 8-12 hours for the 12 different categories, initial rounds, semi-finals, and final rounds. Friday will be used for practice, and Sunday for an early afternoon return.
Forensics provides students the opportunity to represent the Munising Public School District at the state level. These Mustangs will travel to Troy High School to face hundreds of contestants at levels B, C, and D levels–all at the same time. Class A will have its own separate tournament. Forensics competitors specialize in public speaking using evidence, show huge confidence and problem solving, and two of the three competitors were ranked in the top 10 in the state last year.
Munising will be hosting a public viewing of our state finalists at the high school around noon on Friday, April 22. If you are interested in viewing the performances or helping to sponsor a student, please contact Coach Heather Nayback.
The estimated meal costs for this trip are at least $300 per student, excluding the coach. We are asking for community support to help give our students a great opportunity to showcase our public speaking skills and theatrical talent. Any donations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your continued support of the Munising Community!
Donations may be made by check (preferred) or cash. Please make checks payable to "Munising High School" and write "Forensics State Finals" in the check memo line. Checks or cash may be dropped off in the office or mailed to:
Munising Middle-High School
810 State Hwy. M-28 West
Munising, MI 49862
Please direct questions to Heather Nayback at heather.nayback@mps-up.com or at her personal cell at 906 202 9098 and leave a voicemail or text message.

MUNISING MUSTANG SOFTBALL UPDATE:
Due to ongoing snow, cold, rain, and unplayable field conditions, both of the away games this week have been canceled (Norway 4/18 & Stephenson 4/21). Attempts to reschedule these away games are currently being made. We are tentatively slated to host our first home games with doubleheaders on Tuesday 4/26 against Bark River-Harris at 4:00/6:00pm and Thursday 4/28 against Superior Central at 4:00/6:00pm if field conditions allow. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding with Mother Nature....Spring is bound to arrive!
